Please listen to the prompts as these change frequently. Do not call any mobile or home numbers you may have previously used unless specifically advised by the vet. These vets might not be on duty or even at home. Steph has come back from a 2 week holiday to find a message on her answering machine about a sick cat when the vet on duty on the night in question was not contacted!

Sometimes we are not immediately available for extremely urgent cases after hours. Often this is because we are already dealing with a previous emergency or because in a small country practice we haven't the manpower during illness or holidays to always offer a personal after hours service.

In this case we will direct you to the after hours ANIMAL EMERGENCY SERVICE at Carrara on the Gold Coast. Do not be dismayed, as it is only 35 minutes drive right next to the Pacific Motorway at Exit 75. Dedicated vets and nurses are employed only to work nights and weekends to provide this service. The building itself is shared by Veterinary Specialist Services during the daytime. AES can therefore offer continuous night care with all the latest equipment that a specialist practice can offer.

Your pet's records will be emailed back to us and if ongoing treatment or hospitalisation is required we can then continue care here at Murwillumbah Vet Clinic.
