Love is in the air with Valentines Day during February.  We know that pets make great friends, but it is worth remembering that they can also be troubled by parasites and diseases, some of which they can pass on to you! Mostly, these are preventable problems and we can give you all the advice you need to keep your best mate in good health and to make it safe for you and your family to give them lots and lots of cuddles.

Consider these points before you give your pet a kiss:

• Worms – some of which can be passed on to humans

• Fleas – which may bite us

• Ticks – can also bite us causing a nasty swelling

• Dental care – who wants to kiss someone with bad breath?

• Behaviour training – so they can stay nice and calm

• Bath – so they are fresh and clean for a cuddle

• Arthritis- they may not be able to easily go for a walk or play with a ball.
